Summary

In this chapter you explored some aspects of enhancing the user interface by providing some basic Windows functionality. You learned how to create a dynamic structure using data stored in the database and you hooked up those menu items to specific methods in your MDI form. In addition, you notified the user that unreported errors are in the Windows Event Log and you learned how to draw status bar panels with whatever you want on them. You also learned how to include resources in an assembly and how to reference those resources.

In the next chapter, you will add the functionality to display and edit the territories in the database. You will also look at how the choices you made earlier in the design process directly affect how you physically code your objects and how they actually relate to each other.
