The techniques in this chapter are invaluable for checking on the health and status of your servers. WMI provides a broad range of objects with which you can interrogate the system. The Event Log is available via the EventLog class, and Performance Monitor is available with the classes (such as the PerformanceCounter class) in the Diagnostics namespace.

In this chapter, you've learned how to use WMI to query for server information. You've also learned how to use the Perfmon objects to collect performance information.

This is a straightforward demonstration. Your use will probably be more specialized for your particular server, but there's plenty of latitude for you to get the information you need.
