Chapter 19. Editing HTML: Creating an HTML Editing Server Control

In This Chapter:

  • Editing HTML with a Web Browser

  • Implementing an HTML Editor as a Server Control

  • Using the HTML Editor Server Control

This chapter teaches how to implement a client-side HTML editor. Maybe you have seen the editor Yahoo uses for its e-mail, or you've seen one elsewhere, and wondered how they did that. The sample HTML editor in this chapter is implemented as a custom server control so that it can be easily used in any application.

NOTE: The development of a client-side Web browser involves the use of client-side scripting. This chapter assumes that the reader has at least minimal knowledge of client-side scripting and the client-side object model.
