KeyNet's remote users dial into their local ISP and establish a VPN tunnel to corporate headquarters for access to corporate intranet functions. These remote users are using native IP communication, in turn using the VPN tunnel for encryption across the public Internet. Once these remote users are authenticated and are part of the organization's intranet, these users also can access branch office resources across the Frame Relay WAN. It is not automatic that these remote users can access branch office resources; this access depends on the network design, configuration, and management by the organizations IS/IT staff.
