Setting Plugin Options


Plugin developers aren't aways consistent about how they allow access to plugin configuration options. Generally speaking, you can find links to view and set plugin options in any of the following places:

  • The Action column of the Plugin Management administration panel sometimes includes a configure link for a plugin (Figure 13). Clicking that link opens the administration panel for the plugin (Figure 15).

  • The Dashboard may display additional buttons to access plugin options (Figure 16).

  • Clicking the Manage button from the Dashboard may display additional buttons to access plugin options (Figure 17).

  • Clicking the Options button from the dashboard may display additional buttons to access plugin options (Figure 18).

How do you learn where to find access to configuration options? Read the documen-tation that came with the plugin!

Tip

  • Not all plugins have configuration options. Some just come preset and work as designed without setting anything.


To set plugin options

1.

If necessary, log in to your WordPress blog and display the Dashboard.

2.

Access the administration panel for the plugin (Figure 15).

3.

Set options as desired.

4.

Click the Save, Update, or similar button to save your changes.
