User Accounts

Every WordPress blog has at least one user who can add to and modify the blog's content.

On a WordPress.com account, there can be multiple users, but each user has to have his or her own WordPress.com account.

WordPress server installations also support multiple users, but they don't need to set up a WordPress.com account. Instead, each user has his own account and online identity within the blog.

In this chapter, we explain how to modify your WordPress account profile to set various options and change your password. We also explain how to add, modify, delete, and assign roles to users.

• In a WordPress server installation, if the Anyone can register option is enabled, site visitors can register and create their own accounts. We tell you about setting options in Chapter 2.
