When you start your computer for the first time with Mac OS 9.2, the Mac OS Setup Assistant may automatically launch (Figure 52). This program steps you through the process of configuring Mac OS 9.2.
Tip
Use the Mac OS Setup Assistant to configure Mac OS 9.2, even if you are an experienced Mac OS user. The Setup Assistant can properly set all configuration options in Mac OS 9.2 control panels; setting control panels manually may interfere with the operation of Mac OS X.
To use the Mac OS Setup Assistant
1.
If the Mac OS Setup Assistant does not automatically appear when you first restart your computer with Mac OS 9.x, open its icon. You can find it in Hard Disk Name: Applications (Mac OS 9):Utilities:Assistants (Figure 53).
