Printing Documents

In most cases, when you've finished writing, formatting, and proofreading a document, you'll want to print it. This chapter tells you about the three parts to the printing process:

  • Page Setup enables you to specify information about the paper size, print orientation, and scale.

  • Print Preview enables you to view the document onscreen before you print it. You can also use this view to set page breaks and margins to fine-tune the printed appearance.

  • Print enables you to specify the page range, number of copies, and other options for printing. It then sends the document to your printer.

Tips

  • This chapter assumes that your computer is already set up for printing. If it is not, consult Mac OS Help or the documentation that came with your printer for setup information.

  • Information about printing mailing labels, form letters, and envelopes is provided in Chapters 14 and 15.
