Revealing Formatting


Word offers an easy way to see what kind of formatting is applied to text: the Reveal Formatting command (Figure 1). This command displays a window with formatting details for the text you click (Figures 3 and 4).

To reveal formatting

1.

Choose View > Reveal Formatting (Figure 1). The mouse pointer turns into the Reveal Formatting pointer (Figure 2).

To learn about the formatting applied to text, click on the text (Figures 3 and 4).

3.

Repeat step 2 for any text for which you want to reveal formatting.

4.

When you are finished revealing formatting, press . The mouse pointer turns back into a regular pointer.
