Revealing Formatting

Word offers an easy way to see what kind of formatting is applied to text: the Reveal Formatting command (Figure 1). This command displays a window with formatting details for the text you click (Figures 3 and 4).

To reveal formatting

1.	Choose View > Reveal Formatting (Figure 1). The mouse pointer turns into the Reveal Formatting pointer (Figure 2). Figure 2. The Reveal Formatting pointer.
2.	To learn about the formatting applied to text, click on the text (Figures 3 and 4). Figure 3. One example of revealing formatting. Figure 4. Another example of revealing formatting.
3.	Repeat step 2 for any text for which you want to reveal formatting.
4.	When you are finished revealing formatting, press . The mouse pointer turns back into a regular pointer.
