Using Note Flags


Note flags are icons or check boxes you can place in the left margin beside individual notes at any level. You can use these flags to draw attention to specific notes.

You add note flags to items using the Note Flag button or Note Flags pop-up menu in the Formatting Palette (Figure 30).

Tips

  • The check boxes are particularly handy since you can use them to check off items that you have finished working with.

  • A note can have up to two flags: one check box and one priority flag.


To add a note flag to a note

1.

Position the insertion point anywhere within the note you want to flag (Figure 31).

2.

To insert the note flag currently displayed on the Note Flag button on the Formatting Palette, click the button.

or

To insert a different note flag, choose one from the Note Flags pop-up menu on the Formatting Palette (Figure 30).

The note flag appears in the left margin beside the note (Figure 32).

To remove a note flag

1.

Position the insertion point anywhere within the note with the flag you want to remove (Figure 32).

2.

Choose the flag that is assigned to the note from the Note Flags pop-up menu on the Formatting Palette (Figure 30).

The note flag disappears.
