GIFTS ARE THANKS TO THE TEAM

When people select their own awards, their satisfaction goes up. It’s that simple.

This year, instead of giving the traditional turkey or other standard fare, try offering a selection of small gifts—everything from a company pen to a fruit basket and from a clock to an inexpensive yet tasteful watch.

One large pet retailer recently presented each employee with a wonderful holiday card. In the card was a message from management and a Web address and access code—allowing the recipient to go online to chose one of several useful gifts. The gifts were sent home in time for the holidays.

AN ADDED BENEFIT: 

The high-tech execution allowed employees’ families to gather around the computer and join in on the recognition experience as well.
