Stumped?
At first glance, the numbers can be a little depressing: only one-third of workers believe that their employer knows what motivates them to perform well and produce high-quality work.
But then you realize that it’s just the tip of the iceberg: slightly less than half of managers admit they do not know how to motivate the employees they supervise.
So what’s a manager to do? Just ask them. Call in your employees one by one and ask what types of recognition they would most enjoy It’s a win-win situation. You get the answers you need; and they appreciate your attempt to better understand their needs. Not exactly rocket surgery. Or was that brain science?
