“Being cheerful keeps you happy.”
—King Solomon, ancient Babylonian leader
Happiness isn’t something that one can be given. It isn’t something that arrives one day, like a package, when the conditions are just right. It’s a choice. It’s a decision.
So it’s ironic that so many managers—who are paid to make the big decisions—can’t seem to make up their minds to simply be positive.
Today, make a goal to remain unruffled no matter what happens around you. When people ask you, “How’s it going?” answer, “If it gets any better, it wouldn’t be fair!” As you adopt a cheerful, positive attitude, you will feel happier in your job. And so will your employees.
