Haven’t I seen you someplace before?
After her first day of high school, our friend’s little sister came home with a knowing smile. She couldn’t wait to tell everyone she’d seen a picture of Kelly (our friend) mounted on the school wall—sporting the requisite Farrah Fawcett hair of the 1980s. As it turns out, Kelly had been a student body officer in 1985, something she was proud of then—and now.
Of course, her sister thought the hair was hilarious. Kelly’s reaction was a little different. She was surprised—and (to be honest) a little bit flattered. She’d had no idea her long-ago accomplishment was still on display.
In hopes of creating that same reaction, many companies have Walks of Fame, displaying pictures of employees who have been recently rewarded for outstanding performance or length of service.
These walks serve as a highly visible—and lasting—reminder of an employee’s accomplishment.
