When it comes to company values, less is more.
Some companies’ corporate values remind us of a kid’s Christmas list: way, way too long! We’ve visited companies that proclaim to have twelve, or even more, key values. Our question to them is “How are employees expected to remember what’s important?”
The secret is to keep it simple. Choose three or four values, at most.
Think about it this way: Moses introduced only ten values, and most people have trouble keeping them in mind.
