JUNE 27

It’s all in the way you look at things.

AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

Mental note to self: need a change in perspective; make appointment with optometrist.

Wouldn’t it be great if it were that easy to alter your general outlook on things? It’s not; but it’s not impossible, either.

To cultivate a habit of seeing the good in people, we suggest starting a “gratitude journal.” Here’s how it works: each day, write down all the things you are grateful for (or, in the interest of time, at least one thing you appreciate). It’s that simple. There’s no need to even buy a journal if you’d rather not (although it might serve as a good motivator or reminder). A file on your computer named “gratitude journal” works just as well.

Actively seeking (and later reviewing) the good things at work and in your personal life will soon become a habit that will benefit you for a lifetime.
