You wouldn’t believe how much that little note means.

MORE PRECIOUS THAN GOLD

It wasn’t worth more than a couple cents, if that. We could have gone down to the store and bought a whole pack any day of the week and covered ourselves with them. But somehow none of that mattered.

All we knew is that we wanted that gold star from our teacher. And we wanted it bad.

That’s the same way most of us feel about a simple hand-written note of appreciation from our boss. As we visit client locations, we’ve seen personal cards from supervisors posted on cubicles and office walls throughout North America. Why? Because recognition is rare and valuable. And we crave it.
