This paper describes a framework designed to assess the impact of the adoption of a WS in a company and its application to a case study. Results showed the organizational factors that constrained or enabled changes in this case were: the frequency of performance of the task; the characteristics of the WS adopted; the existing technologies; the employees and the culture of the organization. These factors are interdependent, being the outcome of the adoption of a WS and the result of the interaction between them. Being aware of which factors might interact beforehand will contribute to a better management of the process of change.
