Computer programs are brittle. It is easier for applications to talk to people than to other applications. That's why Web services specifications are less mature than pure Web specifications.
There are three major Web services technologies: SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI. We covered SOAP in Chapter 19, "Web services introduction", on page 414. Now we'll take a closer look at the other two.
