Exam Highlights

Before taking the exam, review the key topics and terms that are presented in this chapter. You need to know this information.

Key Points

  • If a user complains that a Web page does not look the way it should, be sure you check whether a custom appearance is set and whether that custom appearance is configured to override the styles on Web pages.

  • You can remove temporary Internet files cached on a user’s hard disk by using the Disk Cleanup tool that comes with Windows XP or by using the Internet Options dialog box in Internet Explorer. Deleting temporary files can fix a number of problems, ranging from slow performance to problems logging in to websites.

  • Remember the five kinds of cookies—temporary, persistent, first-party, third-party, and session. Also remember what types of cookies are blocked at the different privacy settings.

Group Policy is used to specify how a user’s desktop looks, what wallpaper is used, and how the Internet Explorer Title bar looks, to name only a few options.
