Welcome to MCDST Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-272): Supporting Users and Troubleshooting Desktop Applications on a Microsoft Windows XP Operating System. This book teaches you how to resolve end-user requests for configuring and troubleshooting desktop applications running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional Edition.

You will learn how to talk to end users about problems, isolate and troubleshoot problems, and then propose and document solutions. This book focuses on the following:

• Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook

• Configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft Internet Explorer

• Creating e-mail and newsgroup accounts in, configuring, and troubleshooting Outlook Express

• Configuring the Windows XP desktop environment to support running various applications
