A network adapter is a device, usually a card inserted into a computer, that provides network connectivity and features one or more jacks for plugging in a network cable. As a DST, you must be able to troubleshoot physical problems that might affect network connectivity, such as an unplugged or malfunctioning modem, an unplugged or bad cable, or even a damaged network adapter. You must also be able to troubleshoot the configuration of network adapters in Windows XP.
