Objective 5.4: Configure and Troubleshoot Internet Explorer

As a DST, you will be required to support users that are using Internet Explorer as their Web browser. Because users spend much of their time on the Internet, you should be able to answer any questions that they might have about optimizing Internet Explorer and personalizing it so that it becomes easier for them to use. As more and more users become aware of the misuse of cookies and the dangers of attacks being made over the Internet, you should be able to troubleshoot and assist users with configuring the security properties of Internet Explorer. You should also be able to configure the connection properties and the general properties of Internet Explorer. Many of the questions users will have for you might involve access problems, questions regarding cookies, or general questions regarding why a toolbar or feature is missing from Internet Explorer.

To answer the questions in this objective, you should know how to configure Internet Explorer’s general, security, and connection settings. You should also be able to help users personalize their Internet Explorer, making it easier to use.
