Summary

Public folders provide centralized storage of virtually any type of document or message and allow controlled access by any user in the organization. As such, they provide the basis of workflow applications for Exchange Server 2003. In this chapter, you learned what you need to know to set up a good public folder system in your Exchange organization, including how to create public folders, how to manage them with the Outlook client as well as with the Exchange System snap-in, and how to create multiple public folder trees in your Exchange organization. You also learned how to set up replication so that your public folders can be copied to public folder stores on other servers. Now it’s time to turn to another aspect of the Exchange storage architecture. In Chapter 11, “Using Storage Groups,” you will learn how to configure and manage Exchange Server 2003 storage groups.
