Codec Updates

Codecs are updated periodically to improve performance or add enhancements. Once updated, the codecs are stored on a codec server where your Player can retrieve them automatically. But the automatic update of codecs is not always desirable for a variety of reasons, such as when company policy prohibits software downloads or when a group of users has standardized on a specific codec for playback. In these cases, you can turn off the automatic download from the Tools menu by clicking Options, clicking the Player tab, and then clearing the Download codecs automatically check box. You must have administrative privileges to change this setting.
