PCs used by the development team should also receive attention. In particular, developers and testers both use tools that stress PCs in the areas of disk space, memory, and CPU speed. A small investment can pay dividends in the form of improved productivity and increased morale among staff. Also, don't forget to determine the client computer resources needed to run the new application once it is delivered. Will the end-user PCs have sufficient power to run both the newly delivered application and other applications the user may use concurrently? Will the network be able to handle enough traffic and still meet system response time? These questions must be answered as early in the project lifecycle as possible. |
