From the CD, copy the folder named project3 to your computer.
On your computer, create a folder named mywork3 or something similar in which to save your work.
From the project3 folder, open the template templt3 in Logic.
In your new mywork3 folder, re-save the template as myproj3 or something similar.
OK, let's take a look at the score (Figures P3.1, P3.2, P3.3 and P3.4). Ouch! It looks complicated, right? Don't be put off. This kind of music looks horrendous written down. Once you hear it things make more sense.
Load project3/3.mix and have a good listen. Play it several times and follow the score. Sounds easier than it looks, doesn't it? Mute and solo tracks to hear individual tracks and sequences. The 'groove' is important here, and it is probably best to start this one with drums and bass.
NOTE
When loading example files containing MIDI settings, it's quite likely that you will initially hear the wrong sounds (very likely those from a previous project or song). Use [Options > Song Settings > Used Instrument MIDI Settings] to correct them. A faster way quickly cursor up or down the tracks using the arrow keys on your computer keyboard.
