Follow these steps:

1. Record the synth part between the Locators (Figures P9.5 and P9.6).

2. Select the recorded data in the Matrix Edit window and Force Legato [Functions > Note Events > Force Note Legato]. Things have now taken a new direction with the synth creating a degree of tension.

3. Save Song compare with project9/9.5.

I'm rather fond of simple two note string pads for adding a touch of mystery. Placing one above the moving synth line will further establish the change of mood at measure 15.
