Using a combination of audio loops and sequenced audio instruments, compose a short jingle suitable for use with the Get Creative Web site. Record a vocal track chanting or singing the words 'Get Creative With Logic.'

If you want to listen through the finished song file and find out how it goes, load 9platmix or 9goldmix or 9silvermix.

If you have read Chapter 3 all about getting ideas and developing them then you will understand the importance of knowing where you are heading. This is often best worked out away from the computer either in your head or sometimes as notes or sketches on paper.

Although the drum loop comes first in this project, it must be said that the idea for the vocal part came first. It was buzzing around in my head for weeks before I actually got around to recording it. Although it's the essence of the piece and everything else is built around it, for now, it can wait.

NOTE

If your version of Logic does not support ReCycle files, import the audio file 120bpm.aif instead.

NOTE

Before importing ReCycle files, define a path and check the Store ReCycle Audio Song Folder panel in the Set Audio Record Path window [Audio > Set Audio Record Path...], otherwise Logic will probably save the created audio files within the Emagic folder on your hard drive instead of your current Song folder ( Figure P9.2 ).
