Take 8

1. Return to the String 1 track.

2. Set the Locators at (L) 43. 1. 1 (R) 53. 1. 1 and record the strings in Figures P8.18 and P8.19.

3. Copy the resulting sequence to the String 2 track, transpose it down one octave (12) and rename it.

4. Save Song compare with project8/8.8.

We now have strings, one octave apart, playing a moving line and creating a contrast with the repeating ostinatos above. Something more is needed to add extra weight; bass and drums are the obvious choice. However, I think a slap bass is needed to give the edge needed to cut through those low strings.
