Take 5

NOTE

Track 4: (Ch 4) RockOrgan

Sequence Parameters box: Qua 8 & 12 Dynamics 50%

Instrument Parameter box: Cha 4, Prg 18, Transpose +12

To repeat the shuffle pattern again would be too much of a good thing. So what to play? Something a little more spaced out is called for that does not interfere with the melody. How about this:

  1. Record the organ (Figure P7.18). It sounds good one octave higher than written so use the Transpose feature in the Instrument Parameter box (+12). Again, do it in sections if your keyboard skills are not too hot! (Figures P7.19, P7.20 and P7.21).

  2. Save Song compare with project7/7.5.

Nothing more is needed except for the tenor sax, to replace the piano. Nothing more in the way of instruments that is. We only have about 30 seconds of music and the brief requires around one minute's worth. How do we extend it? Well, we could repeat it again. It might work but boredom will almost certainly creep in. No, something new is needed.

Think back to the brief. It's a comedy , but there's something a little sad about those characters . A slight change of mood could be established. But how do we do that without losing the feel? Continue to use the blues scale of course, to provide unity. Back to the piano track and melody crafting .
