Built-in synthesizers and plug-ins

Quite a few projects make use of Logic's built-in synthesizers: ES M, ES P, and ES E as well as various plug-ins. Because they will be used on computers with widely differing processing power, extensive use of these has been avoided. Only a few are usually operating at one time.

You can monitor the processing power being used in the System Performance window [Audio > System Performance...] (Figure 0.7) and if you experience problems, disable the least important plug-in currently in use.

There's one other supplied software instrument called KlopfGeist (Figure 0.8). Its main use is as a metronome. It is included with each project template and inserted on channel 64.

NOTE

A 'Kloppgeist is the baby brother of the 'Poltergeist' but doesn't throw the furniture around! He just makes knocking and tapping sounds.
