8.4. The MIT LicenseSimilar to the BSD license, the MIT license, developed originally to cover software including the X Window System for Unix, grants users the right to "use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the software," according to its license. As with BSD, a copyright notice, a disclaimer, and the instructions covering both must be reproduced in the code. The MIT license is GPL compatible. |
