Installing SQL Server client files is as simple as installing SQL Server itself. To install the SQL Server client files on a client computer, follow these steps:

1. Perform steps 1 through 9 as outlined earlier in the "Local Installation" section.
2. When the SQL Server 2000 Installation Definition dialog box appears, click Client Tools Only and then click Next to continue.
3. In the Select Components dialog box that appears, select the desired options and click Next. You can select Management Tools, Client Connectivity, Books Online, Development Tools, Code Samples, or any combination of these options. By default, the Management Tools, Client Connectivity, Books Online, and Development Tools options are selected.
4. When the Start Copying Files dialog box appears, click Next to continue.
