Summary

3 4

In this chapter, you've learned about the three types of SQL Server replication: snapshot replication, transactional replication, and merge replication. You were also introduced to the publish-and-subscribe metaphor for SQL Server replication, which first appeared in SQL Server 6. And you learned how to configure snapshot replication. As you gain experience with replication, you'll begin to see the flexibility built into SQL Server replication. In Chapters 27 and 28, you will learn more about the more complex forms of replication: transactional replication and merge replication.
