Unknown User Policy

The final aspect of external database configuration is the configuration of how ACS handles an unknown user. At this point, you have the external database in your ACS configuration; you have configured the database to group mapping, but ACS is not sure what to do if it sees a user attempt to authenticate that is not in its local database. This leads you to the unknown user policy configuration.

The first option is to fail the attempt. If this is the case, ACS fails an attempt from a user that attempts to authenticate using credentials from an external database. The second option is to check the external databases that you have configured. To perform this task, you must place the server that is in the left column, titled "External Databases," and place it into the right column titled "Selected Databases." Do this using the right and left arrows. You can also select the order that the databases are searched. Select Submit when you are finished.
