When you deploy proxy in your network and you are using a Proxy Distribution Table, you increase the amount of accounting that you can do within your network. You can use accounting in the distributed system in three ways:
The benefits of remote accounting are that the remote AAA server logs an entry in the accounting report for that session on the destination server, thus providing accounting records in another location. ACS also takes the user information for that connection and adds that user's connection information to the list of logged in users. You can view them in the logged in users report. Another aspect to the remote use of accounting is that the Max Session feature can be enabled. If the remote AAA server is an ACS device and the Max Session feature is implemented, you can track the number of sessions for each user and each group and adjust them accordingly.
