Options of AR


As each version of AR provides more functionality, the most current version of AR supports many of the functions of the previous versions including some new ones. The new features complement the most current technologies employed by service providers today. These features include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Linux support In addition to running on Solaris Systems, AR now runs on Linux.

  • Prepaid billing A new generic prepaid billing application programming interface (API) allows a real-time interface to billing and rating systems.

  • Authentication protocol additions AR has added authentication protocol support including

    - HTTP Digest Authentication for Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) environments

    - EAP-PEAP v.0, inner methods: EAP-MSCHAP v2, EAP-SIM

    - EAP-PEAP v1, inner methods: EAP-GTC, EAP-SIM

    - EAP-TLS

    - EAP-MSCHAP v2

    - EAP-GTC

  • Enhanced configuration interface The product's configuration utility known as aregcmd has been enhanced for even faster and easier provisioning by providing the following:

    - Automatic command completion

    - Context-sensitive list of options

    - Recall of values for speedy editing

    - Faster and easier user return-attribute configuration

    - Faster and easier check-items configuration

    - Detailed configuration-error messages

  • Authentication database support AR includes database support for MySQL and Oracle 9.

  • View only AR now has the capability to create a view-only administrator that only allows the viewing of configurations.
