6.2 UC01: Login

The goal of the login use case is to show the basic authentication of a user accessing the secure portal. The full use case description can be found in "Business Use case details" on page 16. The technical walkthrough described in "Authentication of a site visitor" on page 27 is carried out in this scenario.

6.2.1 Use case demonstration

The user should start a new Web browser session and open the URL https://m23caatk.itso.ral.ibm.com/portal/wps/portal. They may receive a warning about connecting to a secure site or an untrusted security certificate; if so, they should accept the option to continue. The user will then be challenged by Tivoli Access Manager for e-business to authenticate. They will need to enter their user name and password and select the OK button. In this demonstration, we use the test user andrew and password passw0rd as shown in Figure 6-1.

The user may receive a warning about non-secure items on the page; if so, they should accept the option to continue. They should then be presented with their personalized home page. This may be set to the Content Publishing -> Welcome Page. If so, the user should select Welcome -> My Page. The user should then see a window similar to the one shown in Figure 6-2.
