Tracking and Managing Investment Performance

To help you keep an eye on your investments or to keep an eye on investments you are considering, you can set up a watch list. A watch list provides easy access to investments of interest. Securities on your watch list appear in the Watch List section on the Today's Data tab in the Investing Center. You can add, edit, and delete securities from here.

Set Up a Securities Watch List

On the account bar, click Investing Center and click the Today's Data tab. Then scroll down to the Watch List section.

To add a security to your watch list, be sure that you are connected to the Internet and then click Add a Security.

Type the ticker symbol and/or name of the security and click Next. If you don't know the ticker symbol, click Look Up to locate, copy, and then paste it in the Ticker Symbol box. Quicken downloads the information for the security.

Click Next.

If you want to add another security, select Yes and repeat steps 14;if not, select No. Then click Done.

To make changes to your watch list, click Edit Watch List.

To add existing securities to your watch list, select the appropriate boxes in the Watch column. A check mark means the security is already on your watch list.

To remove securities from your watch list, clear the boxes next to the securities you want to remove.

To completely remove securities from your watch list, select the securities and click Delete. A message appears asking if you want to delete the security.

Click OK to remove it or Cancel to keep it.

To add new securities to your watch list, click New and complete the Add Security to Quicken setup process.

To change information about a security, select it and click Edit.

Make the required changes and click OK.

To select the market indexes you want to use in Quicken, click Choose Market Indexes.

Select the indexes you want and click Done.

Did You Know?

You cannot delete securities that have existing transactions. Quicken does not allow you to delete a security that has transactions associated with it. To delete a security with transactions, you must first delete all associated transactions. If you no longer use a security, it is best to hide the security or simply remove it from your watch list.
