PROJECT FRAMEWORK

  1. A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product or service.

  2. A program is a group of related projects managed in a coordinated way.

  3. Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements.

  4. A deliverable is a tangible, verifiable work product.

  5. The PMBOK project management process groups are Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling, and Closing.

  6. Project management processes can repeat within the project lifecycle, and they generally repeat with each project phase.

  7. The three organization types are functional, matrix (weak, balanced, or strong), and projectized.

  8. As an effective project manager, you are expected to be a good manager and a good leader.

  9. The "triple constraint" paradigm is used to show the effects that competing demands can have on a project.
