Chapter 10. USING THE ADDRESS BOOKBLACKBERRY BASICS:
The Address Book is integrated tightly with both the Message and the Phone applications. In fact, you've used it already in both Chapter 5, "Composing and Sending Messages," and Chapter 9, "Making Phone Calls," though you may not have realized it. When you compose a message or place a call, the Address Book is used to select the recipient. Up to this point, we have used only the Use Once entry and manually entered the address or phone information. This is fine when you are really using that person's contact information only once, but the Address Book provides you with much more efficient ways to reach your intended recipient. In addition to using the Address Book simply to select a recipient to communicate with, the Messages and Phone applications also use the Address Book to look up a friendly name for your recipient that is then displayed in the Message list or the Recent Call list to make communicating with that person even easier. |
