WORKING WITH THE MESSAGE LIST


Now that we've covered how to create and send email, it is time to look at all the other features that are available in the Messages application. Figure 6.1 shows the Message list as you get it with a new handheld. The top portion of the Message screen is the same as the top of the main screen with all the icons. You may not have noticed, but the Phone application is the only other application to do this.

The Message list shows you all of the messages that have been sent or received each day. At the top of the list is a line that contains only a date. This is called the date header. Below the date header are the individual messages that were sent or received on that date, sorted by time. Each message has an icon and a subject. Depending on the options configured, there may also be the name of the sender and/or the time. This is followed by another date header for the previous day and the messages for that date, and so on.
