The same basic communication happens any time you send a message from your handheld, but in reverse. Your handheld breaks up a message into chunks, encrypts each chunk, and sends them to the NOC. Once again, the PIN is used to find the address of your Desktop Redirector or server and the message chunks are sent through the Internet to your server. The chunks are decrypted and reassembled into a message, which is then sent to your email server as an outgoing message. It might seem like an awful lot of work, but the whole process takes just a few seconds and is repeated over and over every day. |
