Sheryl Ehrman


Sheryl Ehrman received her B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1991, and her Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1997. She has worked as a Visiting Scientist in the Process Measurements Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology site in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She has also worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow in the Laboratory for Radio and Environmental Chemistry at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Villigen, Switzerland, studying the interactions between ambient particulate matter and ice crystals.

She currently is employed as an associate professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and as a participating faculty in both the Bioengineering and the Chemical Physics Programs at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research interests include the study of nanoparticle formation and processing and bioengineering applications of nanoparticles, as well as the transport and fate of particulate air pollution. She teaches courses in particle technology, transport phenomena, thermodynamics, and introductory engineering design.
