Writing Java CFX Tags

There are several other ways to work with Java and ColdFusion that we have not discussed here. One is creating CFX tags with Java. As opposed to the Java topics you explored in this chapter, CFX tags are specific to ColdFusion and can't be reused in other environments. However, they are tightly integrated with ColdFusion, have direct access to CFML query objects, and can be used with earlier ColdFusion versions all the way back to ColdFusion 2.0. You'll learn all about CFX tags in the next chapter, "Extending ColdFusion with CFX."
