Sample Code

Because the book is aimed at intermediate to advanced developers, it’s a complete reference to the standards and .NET classes at the heart of Web service development. However, for the sake of readability, it doesn’t contain many complete code listings for the examples. We’ll focus on illustrating on how a specific feature works, and you can find the complete code and working examples on the companion Web site. For example, we won’t look more than once at the code that Microsoft Visual Studio .NET autogenerates when you build a Web service project.

You’ll find the book’s companion Web site, including the complete code listings for the examples, at http://www.microsoft.com/mspress/books/6707.asp. See the instructions on that site for how to install the samples on your own PC. Check the site for corrections and updates to the book as well.
