Computer Equipment Dos & Don’ts

  • Do keep original software in your office. If the need for service arises, software may need to be reinstalled.

  • Do record all details about computer problems on the form provided by the Chief Information Officer.

  • Do keep equipment plugged into a surge protector at all times. Report any damage to equipment to the Chief Information Officer.

  • Do not keep liquids or magnets on or near your computer.

  • Do not remove any computer from the building without written permission from management.

  • Do not install unauthorized IM clients or personal e-mail accounts.

  • Do not transport disks back and forth between home and office. Viruses can be transmitted to your computer or the network from the Internet or other computers.
