Chapter 5. EJBs on JBoss

IN THIS CHAPTER

  • The EJB Client-Side View

  • The EJB Server-Side View

  • The EJB Container

  • Entity Bean Locking and Deadlock Detection

The JBoss EJB container architecture employs a modular plug-in approach. A developer can replace all key aspects of the EJB container with custom versions of a plug-in and/or an interceptor. This approach allows you to fine-tune customization of the EJB container behavior to optimally suit your needs. Most of the EJB container behavior is configurable through the EJB JAR META-INF/jboss. xml descriptor and the default serverwide equivalent standardj-boss.xml descriptor. We will look at various configuration capabilities throughout this chapter, as we explore the container architecture.
