Setting Title Position

Some effects, such as Bounce In To Center, feature a control for specifying the direction in which the text animates. Others, such as Centered Title, let you place text on the screen.

To set title direction:

1.

Click the title you wish to use.

2.

Click an arrow on the directional controller next to the title fields (Figure 12.14).

To set vertical title position:

1.

Click the title you wish to use.

2.

Click within the Monitor's preview to set the position from top to bottom of the text (Figure 12.15). (This feature applies to a few titles only, such as Typewriter.)

Tips

  • Clicking the preview using the Starburst title sets the origin of the starburst lines.

  • The Music Video title gives you the option of running text along the left or right side of the screen. But it's also a text block title, so you can type line breaks (using Return or Enter). If you put the two features together, you can position text in the upper-left or upper-right corners of the screen (Figure 12.16).

Figure 12.16. Music Video gives you a little more control over text positioning because it's a block title.

  • All sorts of controls can appear in the Titles pane, as you'll discover if you install third-party plug-ins. The Bounce Across title adds a control for setting the amount of "waviness" applied to the text.
